Eph. 6:1-4

This week’s sermon is more like an extended children’s sermon. The pastor speaks directly to the children about how they fit in God’s eternal plan. Even though grown adults may not be under their parents’ direct authority, they are still under numerous lines of authority, and have the challenge of fighting their natural desire to be their own boss, and humbly trusting and obeying those who God has put over them. So the battle doesn’t end when you grow up! But because children are in the lowest position of leadership, we should expect them to feel powerless and miserable. So how much greater is the testimony of God’s sufficiency when even a child can humbly submit to their parents! The pastor presents Eph. 6:1-3 as God’s mission to kids, and v. 4 as the mission for parents who know Jesus.
